Last week some players participated to the WTT Contender in Lima – the TIBHAR star Darko Jorgic stood among the favorites.
After a difficult start in the first round against the Japanese Yoshiyama (3:2), no one was able to stop the Slovenian player anymore in the eighth, fourth and semi-finals to finally reach his only third finals of a WTT tournament.
His adversary in the finals was the player from Saarbruecken but also his team mate Patrick Franziska. They both put the level very high and the duel was from the beginning on very strong. However, Darko left almost no chance to the German National player and won the match on a non-appealing score of 4:0.
Hence, he won his first title in a WTT tournament. With this victory he will move forward in the world ranking list.
“This is such an incredible feeling to finally win my first WTT Contender title” said Jorgic after his victory. “I almost made it twice before, but always failed. That makes me even happier now”.
