Last weekend, the French Championships took place in Montpellier, with the Lebrun brothers, Alexis and Felix, eager to showcase their full potential in front of their home crowd!
Felix entered the tournament and effortlessly made his way to the semifinals, where he faced Simon Gauzy. In a highly competitive match, the decision was made in the decisive 7th set – the world number 5 managed to prevail with a score of 11:9, advancing to the final as he did the previous year, where he met his brother Alexis, who also secured a victory in the semifinals with an 11:9 win in the 7th set against Can Akkuzu.
The final between the two brothers unfolded similarly to 2023, turning into a real thriller, which once again went in favor of the older brother! With this victory, Alexis Lebrun has now won the singles title at the French Championships three times in a row. In the doubles competition, the two rising stars teamed up – and once again, they breezed through the early rounds! In the final, they faced Esteban Dorr, another player from Montpellier, who surprisingly reached the final with his partner Florian Bourrassaud. In a tightly contested match lasting five sets, Alexis and Felix eventually emerged victorious, celebrating the title in front of their own fans! TIBHAR congratulates the Lebrun brothers on another milestone in their still young career.
