RAIN OF MEDALS FOR TIBHAR YOUTH

Following the great successes at the European Games, the Youth European Championships were the next table tennis highlight in Poland in July 2023 with fantastic results for our young TIBHAR stars.

At the Youth European Championship, our players were able to win numerous medals!

Romania traditionally ranks among the strongest nations in the junior sector, so it is not surprising that the Romanian national team was able to win a total of five gold medals.

Particularly satisfying were the outstanding successes of TIBHAR player Edy Ionescu, who had already drawn the attention at the European Games when he surprisingly eliminated Dimitrij Ovtcharov and fought his way into the quarter-finals.

Ionescu was able to secure the U19 titles in singles, doubles and with his team, as well as a silver medal in mixed.

It is noteworthy that in the U19 singles competition, two more TIBHAR junior hopes, Milosz Redzimski from Poland (silver) and Andrei Istrate from Romania (bronze), were in the semi-finals.

Istrate won his third medal in Poland after a silver medal in doubles and the team title!

The Romanian girls were also satisfied, because with the title in the team competition, as well as two more medals for Bianca Mei Rosu in U19 doubles (silver) and mixed (bronze), they were extremely successful. In the final of the team competition, Mei Rosu and her team mates were able to defeat TIBHAR player Naomi Pranjkovic and the German team.

Further medals at the U19 went to the German team with TIBHAR player Matthias Danzer and the Croatian Hana Arapovic, who won bronze in doubles.

The TIBHAR team was very successful too in the U15 category:

In addition to a gold medal in the team competition for the two TIBHAR players Lisa Wang and Josephina Neumann with the German team, the TIBHAR newcomer Bode Abiodun won gold as well!

In his very first tournament with new TIBHAR equipment, the young Portuguese was very impressive and won the title in the team competition and the silver medal in doubles, as well as the title in singles in the male youth!

‘Josi’ Neumann was crowned with a second gold medal in doubles with her partner Koharu Itagaki.

We are very proud of these great successes and look forward to the upcoming years!

Congratulations to the TIBHAR juniors for their results!
